I am a husband, and a dad with four daughters, two of them teenagers and two of them wanting to be teenagers. I have been rooting for Borussia Dortmund for about 5 years (Heja BVB!) and the Green Bay Packers for 25+ years. I moved to southern Arizona to get away from the icy cold of the Midwest. I am a Pitt grad (B.S. Information Sciences) and work in healthcare IT.
Mostly I write about sports, entertainment, and my personal life.

Why “jmartindf”? Back in high school, I registered my first ever domain: desertflood.com. I fancied that I could explain tech stuff to normal people better than most. And my clever idea for expressing that was a flood of life giving water, in the desert. “Bringing life to the barren wastelands of technology”, was I think how I put it. (This was long before I moved to the desert and learned enough about desert ecosystems to know how destructive a flood can be.) My first email address was “jmartin@desertflood.com”, or “jmartin@df”. It’s boring, but almost always available when I sign up for a new site.
